The Gate Santa Maria - The Refugium Peccatorum - the Diocesan Museum

This area is located A few steps more to the north of the previous one, proceeding  toward the center of the city. In this area are visitable externally "The port of Santa Maria”, located at the foot of a bridge, and immediately to its left  “Il Refugium Peccatorum”, the outdoor gardens of the Bishop's Curia, that adorn the south side of the Cathedral of Chioggia.

Proceeding along the shore of the Channel  Perotolo westbound-district Tombola, is located at the entrance of the Diocesan Museum.

Inside the Diocesan Museum are located the following work of art:

• The polyptych The Virgin Enthroned with Child and Saints by P. Veneziano, oil on canvas (135x173 cm.)

• The polyptych Stories of San Martino, attributed to the workshop of Lorenzo Venetian (190x255 cm.)

• The Cross painted (half of the XIV sec. ), artist work near the mosaicists of S. Marco

• The canvas of the Madonna and Child attributed to Cima da Conegliano (end of the XV century)

• The canvas of the Crucifixion (XVI century), from many attributed to Palma il Vecchio, but more recently assigned to Giovanni Buonconsiglio, said the Marescalco
